My GP referred me to a dermatologist. Dr Shamik Basu examined my many problem skin areas, made a provisional diagnosis, prescribed the necessary treatment & arranged a biopsy of one spot that he asked me not to treat. Durning my follow up appointment Dr Basu was pleased with the results then prescribed a different treatment that would further improve my skin along with assisting in preventing reoccurrence of the problem. Dr Basu also examined a few other small skin patches that I highlighted. He treated what he could in the time allocated & planned another appointment to remove a small raised area of skin for analysis. On both my visits to Dr Basu he explained everything to me, answered all my questions & forwarded my prescriptions to my chemist for me to collect. I saw Dr Basu for a rash that my doctor told me for years was psoriasis. I had my doubts as my friend has psoriasis and my rash wasnt similar. Dr Basu diagnosed it as lichen planus and he was right - proved by the biopsy. I was so relieved to finally get the correct diagnosis! He explained to me what the condition was and that was excellent - the time he took and his patience. The cream he prescribed worked and my condition is now finally under control. Thank you Dr Basu!
